Our stump grinding services are available across Scotland, using our expertise to remove unwanted stumps from any commercial properties. We use the latest equipment to grind down stumps preventing both suckering (where fresh shoots arise from the stump) and disease which can infect the surrounding plants and soil.

Stump Grinding – What’s involved?

Our experts with over 15 years experience will arrive on site and assess the best methods and techniques for removing the tree stump. We will then begin the process of stump grinding by carefully removing any of the trunk still remaining, then grinding down into the stump to remove as much of the root material as required. For many situations such as laying turf, shallow stump grinding is all that is required with our experts only needing to grind down 20 – 25cm in depth from the surface. For more heavy duty landscaping or replanting, deeper grinding may be required where we will grind down approx 30 – 40cm.

Stump Grinding – When is it required?

The most effective and efficient way is to grind out the stumps when a tree is being felled. That said, stumps can be removed at any time after a tree has come down. Completely dead tree stumps may not appear to be a problem, however, as they can play host to a number of potentially harmful pests, disease and funghi that could spread to neighbouring trees, we would generally recommend their removal. Our expert team can get their equipment into most situations so we can remove stumps from nearly anywhere.
